Terms of sale

What you are buying, what it costs, and how cancelling works.

Last updated 21 September 2026.

The short version. You are buying one perpetual licence for WinScraper Pro, a program you download and run on your own computer. The price is £199, paid once. You have fourteen days to change your mind and get all of your money back, and that right stays with you even after your licence key arrives — we do not ask you to give it up. None of this affects your rights if the software turns out to be faulty or not as we described it.

Who you are buying from

WinScraper Pro is sold by Silver Software UK, a trading name of Silver Software Ltd — a company registered in England and Wales, company number 12551103, whose registered office is Office 403, Screenworks, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2ER, United Kingdom. Silver Software Ltd is the seller under these terms.

E-mail support@winscraper.com · Telephone +44 (0) 7502 341059, Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm UK time.

Writing to us by e-mail is the fastest way to reach us, and it is the address to use for anything in these terms: questions before you buy, cancelling, or a problem with the software.

What you are buying

WinScraper Pro is a Windows program. You download it, install it on your own computer and run it there. It reads websites you point it at and writes the results to files on your own disk.

The licence is a one-time purchase: there is nothing to renew and no subscription. It covers the version you buy and every later version we release, on up to five computers that belong to you or to your business. The licence is for your own use; it does not allow you to resell the program, share your key publicly, or distribute copies.

We describe what each robot collects on the robots page, and you can try all of it free for fourteen days before paying, limited to twenty rows per run. Please use the trial: it is the best way to be sure the program does what you need on the sites you care about.

What you need to run it, and how the licence is checked

WinScraper Pro runs on Windows, on a normal desktop or laptop computer. There is no macOS, Linux or mobile version, and it is not a web service. Your robots need an internet connection to reach the sites they read.

Your licence key is checked by the program on your own computer: there is no online activation and no account to sign in to, so the program keeps working even if our website is unavailable. Activating a key records an identifier for the computer it was activated on. The licence covers up to five computers — that is a limit in this agreement rather than something the program enforces, and we rely on you to keep to it.

Price and payment

The price is £199 for one licence, paid once. That is the total: nothing else to pay, no renewal, and no charge for updates. We are not registered for UK VAT, so no VAT is added and we cannot issue a VAT invoice; you will always get a receipt.

Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Stripe may show and charge the price in your own currency at a rate it sets — the amount shown to you at checkout is the amount that is taken.

The contract between us is made when your payment succeeds.

Delivery

We issue your licence key by hand and send it by e-mail to the address you gave at checkout, normally within a few hours and at the latest within one working day. If it has not arrived, check your spam folder first and then write to us — we will resend it. A key that does not arrive is our problem to fix, not yours.

Until it arrives you can carry on using the free trial; the program becomes the full version the moment you paste the key in.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel this purchase without giving any reason and to get all of your money back. The period ends fourteen days after the day the contract is made — that is, the day your payment succeeds.

The law does allow a seller of digital content to end that right early, but only where the buyer expressly asks for the content to be supplied straight away and acknowledges that doing so costs them the right to cancel. We do not ask you to do that. You keep the full fourteen days even after your licence key has arrived and you have used the program, and you pay nothing for the use you had of it.

We would rather you spent the fourteen-day trial satisfying yourself that the program does what you need before you pay at all. That is what the trial is for.

How to cancel

Tell us clearly, before the fourteen days are up, that you have decided to cancel. An e-mail to support@winscraper.com with your order number is enough. You may use the form below, but you do not have to.

Model cancellation form

(Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.)

To Silver Software Ltd, Office 403, Screenworks, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2ER, United Kingdom, support@winscraper.com:

I/We [*] hereby give notice that I/We [*] cancel my/our [*] contract for the supply of the following digital content: a WinScraper Pro licence.

Ordered on [*]/received on [*]: ______________________

Name of consumer(s): ______________________

Address of consumer(s): ______________________

Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper): ______________________

Date: ______________________

[*] Delete as appropriate.

Refunds

If you cancel in time we refund everything you paid, by the same payment method you used, within fourteen days of the day you tell us. There is no fee for cancelling and no charge for the use you had of the program. We will ask you to stop using the licence key and to uninstall the program.

If something is wrong with the software

Nothing on this page takes away your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the program must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose you told us about before buying, and as we described it. If it is not, you can ask us to repair or replace it; and if that is impossible, or we do not do it within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you can ask for a price reduction or, where the fault is serious enough, a refund.

In practice: write to us and tell us what the program did and what you expected. If a robot stops reading a site correctly because that site has changed, fixing it is our job and we do not charge for it — that is what the free updates are for.

Two things are outside our control and we do not claim otherwise: whether a particular website permits automated access, and what you do with the data you collect. Collecting and using data lawfully is your responsibility, and what the law requires depends on what you collect and where you are.

If you are buying for a business

The cancellation right described above is a consumer right and does not apply if you buy in the course of a business. In that case our total liability to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the price you paid for the licence, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Complaints

Write to support@winscraper.com. We answer every message, and we would far rather sort a problem out directly than have you dispute the payment with your bank. We are not a member of any alternative dispute resolution scheme, so if we cannot agree you are free to go to court; in the United Kingdom, Citizens Advice can tell you how.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the European Union or anywhere else, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of any rule of the law of the country where you live that cannot be set aside by agreement, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live. We will bring any proceedings against a consumer in the courts of the country where that consumer lives.

Changes

We may change these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published on this page on the day you bought, and the date at the top tells you when they last changed.
